Ingredients :

1 1/2 cups375 mLCarnation® Regular or 2% Evaporated Milk 

1 cup250 mLstore bought barbecue sauce

1/3 cup75 mLhoisin sauce

2 tbsp30 mLbrown sugar or maple syrup

2 tbsp30 mLDijon mustard

1onion, finely chopped

2cloves garlic, minced

2 tsp10 mLfinely chopped ginger (optional)

6pork chops, about 8 oz (250 g) each, ¾-in (2 cm) thick

Directions :

  1 :  To prepare barbecue sauce, in a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, barbecue sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, mustard, onion, garlic and ginger. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes or until thickened.

  2 :  Meanwhile, pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper and brown in a preheated non-stick skillet, grill pan or on a barbecue. Place in a single layer in a 13- by 9-inch (3 L) baking dish.

  3 :  Pour barbecue sauce over chops. Bake in a preheated 375ºF (190ºC) oven for 40 minutes, until chops are tender and sauce is bubbling.

Tip(s)

Replace pork chops with 12 to 14 skinless, boneless chicken thighs.
