Studying medicine to earn a lot of money
In general, it takes about 9 to 12 years of study to become a doctor, moving from lecture halls to hospitals. In France, medical studies take place in 3 main stages:
The first cycle
This cycle allows candidates admitted to medicine to acquire the basics of medicine. In other words, it is for them to study both healthy and sick man.
For this, they have the teachings of physiology (study of the functioning of living beings); semiology (study of symptoms of a disease); anatomy (study of the shape and structure of living things); microbiology (science that studies microorganisms and very small living things); etc.
For practice, they first do a full-time 4-week nursing internship. Then, they pass in the general or specialized services of the hospitals this time, for at least 12 weeks. At the end of this cycle, they get the dgeneral education diploma in medical sciences in short DFGSM.
The day school
Also called second cycle, the day school brings together the 4e, 5e and 6e years. Here, the theoretical training of learners is essentially based on the study of pathologies. That is to say, their causes, their manifestations, their prevention and their treatment.
Unlike the first cycle, in an externship, the practice takes up more time. In addition, students are already receiving remuneration, the amount of which depends on the progress of the course.
At the end of the second cycle, medical students obtain the advanced training diploma in medical sciences (DFASM). To determine the specialty and the city where they will do the internship, they take the computerized national classifying tests. In short ECNi, this exam takes place over 2 days.
Boarding school
The length of the internship varies in France. It is 3 years for general practitioners and 4 to 5 years for other specialties (surgery, pediatrics, radiology…). Currently, there are around forty specialties. Just like externs, interns also do internships. These last about 6 months. In addition, they also have some theoretical lessons which they follow in the amphitheatres.
During the internship, they prepare an exercise thesis. At the end of the internship, students who have validated the internship, the teaching and the dissertation obtain the state diploma of doctor of medicine.
Engineering studies to get rich

Preparatory classes
Generally, the preparatory classes are very selective and give access after 2 years to competitions. Indeed, they are considered the most prestigious course, because they train at a high level of knowledge. In some engineering schools, there are places reserved only for students in preparatory classes.
One of the biggest advantages of these classes is that they allow students to take time to think before choosing a specialty. However, they do not give students the possibility of doing work placements in companies.
Integrated preparations
As their names indicate, the integrated prepas take place in an engineering school. Admission is essentially by competitive examination. Unlike preparatory classes, here students choose their specialty from the first year. In addition, the integrated preparation promotes training in both theory and practice (lecture hall and work placements).
Parallel tracks
Thanks to the parallel routes, students can access engineering schools with a bac + 1, bac + 2 or even more. Recruitment can be done either by study of a file or by competitive examination. It all depends on the school you want to attend. And also, your previous course should be related to the training sought.
For example, you must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics or computer science. But unfortunately not all schools practice this kind of recruitment. There are some that do not allow admission to bac + 1.
