Who is Francesco Renga
Francesco Renga, born Pierfrancesco Renga (Udine, June 12, 1968), is an Italian singer-songwriter. He grows up with his parents, twin sister and brother in Brescia, where they moved when he was two years old due to his father’s job as a Marshal of the Guardia di Finanza. Yes passionate about music since he was a child and in 1984 he decided to participate with his group in the “Deskomusic”, a music competition. During the event he met the Precious Times, now known as Timoria, and a strong understanding is born between them that will lead them to collaborate for the following decade.
Entry into the world of music however, it is not simple and automatic as it may seem. After high school he is pushed by his father to enroll in the competition to enter the Academy of the Guardia di Finanza and, despite the positive outcome, Francesco renounces. Instead, he enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce and after a year he enrolled at the IED in Milan with the desire to become Art Director.
The beginning of Francesco Renga’s career
However, he understands that his real big dream is music so he immerses himself completely in the work and at 22 he records his own first disc, “Colors that explode”. Also through participation in the Sanremo Festival in the “Young” category Timoria manage to make themselves known and play on different stages all over Europe. Following several misunderstandings with the band’s guitarist, Renga decides to pursue a solo career and so, after the last album together in 1998, he abandons them.
In 2000 he made his debut with the release of his first solo album entitled “Francesco Renga” and is an immediate success. He was called to participate in the Sanremo Festival the following year, obtaining the Critics’ Award with “Tell me…”. Just two years after the first album, a second one comes out at the same time returns to the Ariston stage this time in the Big category. Among his greatest successes, however, we cannot forget “Angelo” presented at the Festival during his participation in 2005.
Francesco Renga between successes and private life
Numerous successes over the next decade including several collaborations and new entries in the largest national competition. In 2014 he released the second single of his sixth album entitled “My most beautiful day in the world” which gets the platinum record. The following year he also starts working as judge of Amici together with Loredana Bertè and Sabrina Ferilli. The role of juror is also repeated in the television program “All Together Now – The music has changed” together with colleagues J-Ax, Anna Tatangelo and Rita Pavone.
As for his private life instead it is impossible not to know that he was together for many years with Ambra Angiolini. He and the actress also gave birth to two children, Jolanda and Lorenzo. Before their love died in 2015, Francesco also dedicated the song “Stay with me” to her.
