“I do not give up” will be broadcast tonight on TV. There movie plot tells the story of the Roman policeman Roberto Mancini who was the first to find the dumps of the Camorra in the so-called Terra dei Fuochi.

I do not give upwill be broadcast tonight on TV at 21.25 on Rai1. The plot of the film sees as protagonists the great actor Beppe Fiorello and a cast of equal respect with Elena Tchepeleva, Massimo Popolizio and Paolo Briguglia. The film is directed by Enzo Monteleone and tells a dramatic story but very topical inspired by the figure of Roberto Mancini.

The film is, in reality, an Italian television miniseries in two episodes broadcast, for the first time, on 15 and 16 February 2016 on Rai 1. Roberto Mancini, figure who inspired the film, he is the Roman deputy commissioner who first brought to light the drama the illegal dumping of toxic waste in Campania. In “Io non mi surrendo”, Marco Giordano, a young provincial inspector, together with a group of collaborators (Rino, Lucio, Alessio and Michele) discovers the traffic of toxic waste in the illegal landfills of the Terra dei Fuochi.

Managed by the Camorra, the traffic culminated in the landfills between Naples and Caserta.

However the course of his investigations will be hindered in every way and silenced. After ten years, a magistrate pushes Marco to reopen the case so that, once and for all, the truth is discovered.

The places of the film

The miniseries is produced by Rai Fiction, Picomedia and Iblafilm by Giuseppe Fiorello, also collaborator on the screenplay, with the support of the Apulia Film Commission. The shooting of the film, between June and July 2015, took place in Puglia and not in Campania. The provinces where the film was shot are Bari (in Conversano, Castellana Grotte and Locorotondo), Toast (in Ostuni, Fasano, Carovigno and Mesagne) and near the city of Lecce.
