Michele Merlo, the former Amici star, died of fulminant leukemia. The family informs that in the late evening of yesterday, June 6, the young man, 28, died in the intensive care unit of the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna. Mike Bird, as he was also known, was one of the discoveries of the talent Amici.
Who was Michele Merlo
Last week, doctors had diagnosed Michele Merlo with one leukemia fulminant. The disease had caused irreversible brain haemorrhage which revealed itself fatal. The young man had undergone emergency surgery. There was no lack of controversy surrounding Michele’s death. The father himself, Domenico Merlo, denounced the negligence of the doctors who had not immediately identified the serious condition in which the son found himself.
Michele had in fact gone to the hospital for some rather felt pains due to which he did not feel well at all.
The X-Factor experience
But the young Michele Merlo, who was he? Class of ’93, Michele had just turned 28 years old. His passion has always been that of I sing, from an early age. For this Michele had with determination decided to continue this path. Try to emerge through the tenth edition of X-Factor.

From X-Factor to Amici

The hospitalization
On 5 June Michele Merlo was hospitalized in serious condition in resuscitation department of the Maggiore Hospital of Bologna. Given the severity of the conditions in which Michele was, he underwent emergency surgery. This occurs in the night between Thursday and Friday, following a brain hemorrhage due to a sudden fulminant leukemia.
The young man did not make it. His death left the entertainment world and all those who passionately followed him speechless.
