Across the detailed diary which tells the period before her departure and the one after, Samantha Cristoforetti managed to unite the world of science and scientific dissemination to the media. In fact, it often presents through social media what is behind the scenes of a fascinating world like that of space.
His story has also become a documentary film as well as a plot of the autobiographical books he has written about this world.
Who is Samantha Cristoforetti

He grew up near the city of Trento, attending Saint Paul Central High School in the city of the same name in Minnesota for a year. After being the protagonist of this Intercultura project, she graduated in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich.
Thus began his in 2001 path to become a pilot of the aeronautical academy. He attended the well-known school of Pozzuoli where in 2005 he obtained the title of officer. Not satisfied with the academic path, she decides to deepen through a new degree Bachelor in Aeronautical Sciences to Federico II of Naples where he obtained the title with honors.
Scholastic and academic training
After graduation he decides to specialize in the United States with the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program in Texas where he manages to become war pilot.

In 2009 she was chosen byEuropean Space Agency (ESA) to carry out missions becoming the first Italian woman called and the third in all of Europe. The first mission is recorded in 2014 and foresees the duration of about 6-7 months to reach the International Space Station. Only 6 Italian men preceded her in this operation, including Paolo Nespoli.
The first great mission is preparation
The so-called “Future Mission”, also named Expedition 42 and Expedition 43, required a very long preparation from its participants. In fact, there were two years of preparation in the Russian astronaut training center. This training of over 500 days was very popular online thanks to the presence of a daily journal held by Samantha.
Among the moments of preparation we remember thetraining in Star City where training for life in space takes place through navigation and gravity simulators. Later, through a period in Houston he was able to practice extravehicular activities and the operation of the Canadian robotic arm.
After a period in the USA where a little practice on first aid was added, he returned to Germany and later to Russia to try on Russian space suits. Evidence of emergency procedures, water survival training and wrong landing training follow. I’m there are numerous difficulties for which she and her colleagues are prepared, including personal hygiene and room cleaning techniques.
