Who is James McAvoy
James Andrew McAvoy (born 21 April 1979 in Glasgow) is a Scottish actor. He grew up in his hometown with his mother a nurse and his bricklayer father who divorced when he was only seven years old. There separation of parents leads him to move to the home of his maternal grandparents where he spends the rest of his childhood and adolescence.
Like all young people he does not immediately have clear ideas about his future so during the years of high school he reflects and decides to enroll in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where he discovers his true vocation.
The beginning of a career in the world of cinema
After finishing your studies decides to move towards acting finding exactly its way. He made his debut in the world of cinema in 1995 with “The Near Room” but the first role with which he really gets visibility is Tumnus, the well-known faun of “The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” in 2005.
The following year also wins a BAFTA as a revelation of the year and gets a nomination for his portrayal of Nicholas Garrigan in “The last king of Scotland”. In 2007 he then starred alongside Anne Hathaway in “Becoming Jane – The portrait of a woman against” which tells the life of Jane Austen.
The great success and the most important roles
In 2007, the greatest confirmations on his talent and the parts that lead him to get more prizes arrive. In fact, he takes part in the film “Atonement” with which he obtains his first candidature for ai Golden Globe and subsequently to “Wanted – Choose your destiny” alongside Angelina Jolie.
He then takes part in the “X-Men” saga with the role of Charles Xavier featured in the first and last film of the quadrilogy. However, one of the projects that leads him to receive more compliments from the public and critics is “Split” then followed by the sequel “Glass” in which he plays a man with multiple personality disorder.
