Who is Albano
Albano, born Albano Antonio Carrisi (Cellino San Marco, 20 May 1943), is an Italian singer-songwriter. He grows up in a farming family where he has a way to approaching music for pure pleasure. He studied in the lecce master’s institute and then left it and moved to Milan in search of a better future. Here he starts working in a restaurant making himself know to some well-known names of the entertainment world.
Pino Massara sends him to the record company La voce del padrone which allows him to debut at the Rose Festival and then at “Settevoci” the television program conducted by Pippo Baudo. Gets great success with “In the sun” which has also become a film project starring him and Romina Power, woman who will have great relevance in his life. In 1968 he then participated in the Sanremo Festival obtaining the critics’ prize.
Who is Albano: the beginning of his artistic career
As already mentioned, among the women in his life, Romina Power is very important for him. The two married in 1970 and brought into the world four children of which, Ylenia, the first, disappears in 1993 opening a large investigative case from Yari Marco, Cristel and Romina Jr. Between the two, not only love is born, but also a artistic partnership lasted several years. Together they found a record company and participate in internationally renowned events such as the Eurovision Song Contest.
The working relationship between the two it is interrupted after more than twenty years of a career together that has seen them travel around the world obtaining great success especially in Latin America. After this artistic break, Albano returns to propose a repertoire that shows his vocal skills more at the great Sanremo Festival.
With the advent of the new millennium he dedicated himself to numerous projects different from them. He conducts programs on television, writes his autobiography, sponsors an Apulian basketball team and offers a compilation of old successes.
Who is Albano: the success and the reunion with Romina
With the beginning of the ten years he returns to present himself on the Ariston stage with a song that allows him to obtain third place. And if in Italy its success does not seem to reach very high peaks, the same cannot be said for what it achieves in Greece where it can boast well 15 platinum discs. He always remains strongly linked to his native region to which he dedicates concerts and attention also with the collaboration of other artists such as Checco Zalone, but also Fabrizio Moro and many others.
In 2013, he realized the dream of many fans: returns to sing with Romina Power. The last performance of the two dates back to 16 years earlier during a concert in Rio de Janeiro. During this moment together they satisfy the wishes of the public by singing some of their greatest hits along with numerous colleagues including Gianni Morandi, Umberto Tozzi, Ricchi and Poveri etc. The reunion leads the two to organize a new tour around the world, but above all on Italian stages such as that of Sanremo. The following projects are many and their presence also on television is never lacking, to the delight of the most nostalgic.
