It’s called the Sense diet or the 4-handful diet, and in Denmark it drove everyone crazy. The reason is obvious: in the Sense diet it is not necessary to count calories. Isn’t this the worst thing about diets? Yes, one of the nightmares of the diet is having to count calories, as well as the fear of being hungry.
And here in Denmark the director of a company active in the field of biotechnology, Suzy Wengel, invented the so-called ‘Sense Diet’ or ‘Method of the four handfuls’. According to Wengel, this diet would allow you to lose up to 30 kg in one year. What does it consist of? In a very simple principle: consume only 4 handfuls of food for each single meal. The single ‘handful’ must be measured across the palm of one’s hand. Obviously, as with all diets, it is always better to consult your doctor before starting it, especially if you have particular pathologies. But now let’s get to the point and understand how to behave if we want to follow this diet. First of all, know that if you want to follow this diet you must drink at least one and a half liters of water a day: water helps to purify the body, eliminates toxins and liquids so it also fights cellulite. What else does the diet include: 3 meals a day. One in the morning, one for lunch, one for dinner. Meals begin with two handfuls of vegetables which are followed by non-over-processed protein. What can you eat? White meat, eggs, legumes, low-fat cheeses.
The 4 handfuls also include carbohydrates – bread, pasta, wholemeal cereals, fruit are allowed – which, optionally, can also be replaced with vegetables. Read on after the photo
And how do we deal with fats? Oil, avocado, butter, dried fruit are allowed as long as they do not exceed three tablespoons per meal. Dairy products should be consumed a maximum of 300ml per day.
Important: for every single pound of product consumed there must be at least 3.5 g of fat and no more than 5 g of carbohydrates. No to sweets, ice cream, sugary drinks while the consumption of coffee and tea is free. Those who play sports must increase the dose of proteins.
