Who is Renzo Arbore
Renzo Arbore, born Lorenzo Giovanni Arbore (Foggia, June 24, 1937), is a well-known Italian television personality.
He grew up with his dentist father and housewife mother witnessing the bombings during the Second World War that led him to move from his hometown to Chieti, in Abruzzo. After the conflict is over, he manages to return to Puglia where he makes himself known as great music lover.
He plays the clarinet in a jazz orchestra and makes his debut on stage as soon as he comes of age and then gradually enters the world of television. In fact, in 1964 he won a competition in Rai, met his colleague Gianni Boncompagni and began to deal with variety programs for several years.
Over time he also obtained the artistic direction of Radio Rai programs, showing his multifaceted talent.
The beginning of Renzo Arbore’s career
Loved for his work in “L’Orchestra Italia”, his radio broadcasting with Boncompagni and a series of successful television programs, he is a very important figure in the 1980s.
Much appreciated, for example, “The other Sunday” the Rai 2 program which contrasts with the already present “Domenica In” on the first network. His experience led him to launch numerous talents on the television scene including Roberto Benigni, Nino Frassica, Milly Carlucci and Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
At the same time he carries on a musical project together with the “NU Orleans Rubbish Band” composed by him and four other members with whom he also makes a record. When I grow up passionate about jazz he is also involved in reviving Perugian music by becoming president of “Umbria Jazz”. He also takes care of the Italian disc-jockey association, a job that is very close to his heart as the first to bring him to Italy.
Success and private life of Renzo Arbore
In addition to her fundamental contribution on television through programs such as the aforementioned “L’altra Sunday”, which sees the collaboration of several illustrious names including Isabella Rossellini as a correspondent from New York, Arbore leads the cult appointment “Those of the night”. Numerous successful projects followed, often remembered for their deliberately ironic tone.
Arbore’s private life is known to have had one history in the 60s with Vanna Brosio and later with Mariangela Melato, which lasted for many years. This is followed by the relationship with Mara Venier in 1997 which however ends seeing him, several years later, again with Melato until the day of his death.
