His career and above all his artistic success took some time to flourish. Let’s find out the story of Giacomo Poretti and his working life before his great success as a comedian.
Who is Giacomo Poretti
Giacomo Poretti born Giacomino Poretti (Villa Cortese, 26 April 1956), is an Italian comedian and actor known for being one of the members of the comic trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.
He grew up with his working-class parents near Legnano and soon became passionate about the world of theater. In fact, he began acting when he was only 8 years old, also trying to become part of the company of “I Legnanesi”.
Later he decides to abandon his studies to go to work in the factory where he remains there until closing. At the age of 18 he then decides to work as a nurse to avoid military service and thus manages to cultivate his passion for acting in parallel by making cabaret performances.
However, it still takes several years for acting to become his main occupation. In fact, he worked for 11 years as a nurse also graduating in theater at the school of Busto Arsizio.
He manages to become the head of the neurology department but in the meantime forms a cabaret duo with Marina Massironi, as well as the girlfriend of the time.
The birth of the trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo
In 1985 he left his job in the hospital and during a period of work in a village in Sardinia he met Aldo Baglio and Giovanni Storti, who in turn formed a comic duo: “The Suggestionabili”. Before the trio is created, a lot of time passes because it is in 1991 that the three begin to make sketches together. They decide to present themselves to the public as “Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo” e they start acting in the theater in various shows such as “Summer Lightning”, “Return to Gerund” and “Storm Air”.
Already during the course of the 90s they manage to obtain great success first with the show “Il Circo di Paolo Rossi” and then with the television program “Never say Gol” with which they get real approval from the public. Among the most successful projects on the small screen, however, one cannot fail to mention participation in Zelig.
Meantime they also debut in the cinema with a series of very successful projects including “Three men and a leg” of 1997 with Luciana Littizzetto, “So is life” followed by “Ask me if I’m happy” a great success also in terms of receipts. Followed by “The legend of Al, John and Jack” and “Do you know Claudia?” starring the great Paola Cortellesi. The projects continue and with them also the collaborations with successful exponents of the film industry including Paolo Genovese, but also Ficarra and Picone.
Solo projects and private life
In addition to the large projects already mentioned, Giacomo has participated in several television productions debuting also in 2018 as conductor on the TV2000 channel with “Scap de ‘tenis – Encounters on the road”. In addition, the same year he also participated in a theatrical show without the colleagues of the trio called “Fare un’anima”.
For Poretti’s history it is difficult to separate work from private life. He had a story, became a marriage with Marina Massironi, actress often alongside the three. After the story with her he had one with Daniela Cristofori with whom he also had a son. The two also often organize cultural meetings, demonstrating their commitment in the “San Fedele” center in Milan.
